Robert R. Blume
Talent Manager/Entertainment Producer
Mr. Blume is an entertainment producer and talent manager with a current 19-year association with the “Golden Globes” of theatre, the annual DRAMA DESK AWARDS after beginning his career in Television as a Production Assistant on THE TONIGHT SHOW at NBC while still in college.
He also manages performers in association with West Coast Talent Manager, Kristin Pitts, associate Talent Manager Carrol Mendelson and Digital Marketing and Public Relations guru, Katerin Rodriguez under the banner of the bi-coastal talent management/production company STEP FORWARD ENTERTAINMENT; and via a partnership with noted talent manager, Michael Katz as KATZ-BLUME MANAGEMENT, whose clients have included two-time Drama Desk nominee, Christina Bianco and Theatre World winner/Tony & Drama Desk nominee, Sally Mayes among others.
Prior to his return to television, while producing award show productions on PBS and the OVATION Network, he moved from TV to Theatre, where he recently produced various NY and Atlantic City productions of ON KENTUCKY AVENUE, The Atlantic City Club Harlem Musical; SKITSO! Starring Australian actor/writer/comedian Jim Dailakis at the Hollywood Fringe Festival and The Triad, NYC; and was a co-Producer on a revival of the play, ME AND JEZEBEL at the Snapple Theater in NYC. Some of his other notable recent theatrical producing ventures include two New York Concert Productions at the famous classical venue, Weill/Carnegie Hall in New York - SUE MATHYS SINGS BROADWAY & PIAF in collaboration with Les Schecter and The Swiss Society of New York and TEHORAH starring Adrienne Haan in partnership with Joseph Barry; and Off-Broadway thriller MINDGAME that starred Academy and Tony Award winner, Keith Carradine and directed by the late film legend, Ken Russell at The SoHo Playhouse, NYC. His long time producing resume also includes two Broadway productions, two Los Angeles productions, International tours and productions in Canada, Italy and Monte Carlo.
He is proud to have been a 20-year Tony voter as a member of THE BROADWAY LEAGUE and is currently a DRAMA DESK AWARDS voter. He is also an Advisory Board Member of the DUKE ELLINGTON CENTER FOR THE ARTS and a strategic advisor to the website for entertainment professionals, ForTalent.com.
